Thin Layer Passivation SLOTOPAS Z 20 blue is a fluoride-containing passivation solution that inhibits iron and cobalt. It is free of Cr(VI).

Key Features:

• Blue-Violet Conversion Layer: Forms an intense blue-violet conversion layer on zinc-plated surfaces, providing good corrosion protection.

• Corrosion Resistance: Exceeds the requirements of DIN 50961 when operated correctly.

• Temperature Resistance: Maintains corrosion resistance after tempering (24 hours at 120 °C) as required by DIN 50979. Higher temperatures (200-210 °C) may slightly reduce corrosion protection, but tests have shown that 2-3 hours at 150 °C do not affect it.

• Iron Inhibition: For applications with higher iron exposure (hollow ware), adding Inhibitor SLOTOPAS ZB or Inhibitor SLOTOPAS FE 1162 can enhance the inhibitory effect and extend the passivation's service life.

• ETH-Free Option: Can be made-up and operated without ETH using Concentrate SLOTOPAS Z 22 blue. In this case, the corrosion protection inhibitor must be added separately.
